Employment Opportunities

Accotink Academy has many opportunities for employment. Our staff consists of certified Special Education Teachers, Co-teachers, Psychologists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and other support staff.

Accotink also participates in a number of training programs through George Mason, George Washington, and other universities in the area.

  • Interview - You will be contacted to setup a time for an interview with the Director of Education.
  • Background and criminal check - Any offer of employment will be contingent on a clean background and criminal check.
  • Must have current tuberculin test - The state of Virginia requires a current tuberculin test of all school staff.
  • Copy of credentials (licenses) for position - You should bring copies of any licenses, or appropriate accreditation.
  • Contract - Upon completion of required information, you will be required to sign a contract of employment.

Clinical or School Psychologist  - full time, doctoral level from an APA accredited program to provide individual/group therapy, classroom consultation, crisis management, and behavioral intervention.  Supervision toward licensure is available.

 

Licensed Clinical Social Worker  - duties to include conducting therapy groups and outreach activities.  Qualified person must also be able to provide clinical supervision to staff social worker.

 

Occupational Therapist  -  full time, must be capable of being licensed in the State of Virginia.

 

Speech/Language Therapist – full time, ASHA CCC/SLP & VA license.  CFY candidates considered.  Individual, small group and & classroom-based models.  Average case load 17 students.

Computer Lab Teacher - full time, duties to include daily computer classes (12 students), lesson plans, projects, and activities.  Work with classroom teacher to integrate and reinforce curriculum.
